The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman stemming from an incident near the downtown core on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 23.

While completing general patrols, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a person wanted in reference to an outstanding arrest warrant. The validity of the warrant was confirmed and an arrest of the person took place. In the course of searching the arrested person incident to arrest, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine tablets was located in her personal effects.

As a result, Jena-Lyn Levesque, 26 of Timmins has been charged with:

  •  Possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused person remained in police custody and will appear in Provincial Court in Timmins this morning.
