Police investigating theft of large number of electronics

On Sept. 4, 2017, the Timmins Police Service received a report of a break and enter and theft at the Mushkegowuk Council office, located on Birch Street South in Timmins.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that sometime between Sept. 2, 2017 at 6 p.m., and Sept. 4, 2017 at 2 p.m., an unknown individual or individuals gained access to the office building.

A large number of electronic devices were taken, including several laptops and numerous tablets. The value of the electronics taken is estimated at between $30,000 and $40,000.

The incident is being investigated by members of the Timmins Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section, with assistance from patrol officers.
