Police investigating collision involving pedestrian

The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of completing its investigation into a collision in which a pedestrian was injured.

At approximately 5:30 pm. on Saturday, January 21st, a westbound motor vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Pine Street at Algonquin Blvd in Timmins.

The pedestrian, a 44 year old male Timmins resident, was transported to Timmins and District Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and currently remains in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at scene of the incident.

The Timmins Police Service deployed members of its Traffic Section and Forensic Identification Sections to assist in this investigation.

Traffic at this intersection was halted from between approximately 5:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. to allow for proper investigative functions to take place.
