Police find man walking down the road late at night with a snow-blower

23-year-old Timmins man faces drug and several other charges as well as theft of the snow-blower

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from an attempt to steal a snow-blower during the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 24.

Responding Timmins Police Service officers located the suspect and the stolen snow-blower a short distance from the original scene.

An on-scene investigation was completed and during the course of determining details the suspect is alleged to have provided a false name to police.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service. Upon arrest, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found on the suspect’s person.

As a result of the incident, Justin Gervais, 23, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Personation with Intent to Mislead contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Trespass By Night contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was held in custody while awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
