Police find drug paraphernalia at local tavern. Employee faces charges

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an occurrence involving allegations of drug trafficking and drug possession at a local tavern.

It is alleged that, on Dec. 2, a female employee of the tavern was found to be in possession of varied types of narcotics.

The female suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service on Dec. 2.

The Timmins Police Service executed a search warrant at the Algonquin Boulevard tavern the following day (Dec. 3) and recovered drug paraphernalia and property obtained by crime.

As a result of this investigation, Vanessa Roach, 43, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Three counts of possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • One count of possession of a property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody on a Promise To Appear requiring that she attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Feb. 7 to answer to the charges laid against her.
