TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE

*************************
Once again this year, the Timmins Police Service will be mentoring local youth by means of the “Youth in Policing” program.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Timmins area high school or a 2016 grad.

Successful applicants will fill the ranks of this program from June 27 until August 19 and be actively involved in the Timmins Police Service and its public safety efforts.

A total of five applicants will be taken on as “Youth in Policing” ambassadors.

Their duties will include scene security at public events, assisting with Community Policing initiatives, manning of public information forums, and other administrative duties to assist Timmins Police officers.

This is a mentoring opportunity for those young men and women who may be considering policing as a possible career.

The applicants must be self-confident, polite, and possess an appreciation for being given responsibility and a keen desire to contribute to their community.

Applications are now being accepted at the Human Resources Department of the City of Timmins. The deadline for the application process is May 13, 2016.

Go to the career section of either the City website or the Timmins Police website for further details and a downloadable application.
