Police charge one in industrial yard theft

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from a theft occurrence which occurred at a Moneta Street industrial yard during the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 12.

Timmins Police Service officers, who responded to the entry alarm, located a male suspect in the vicinity of the theft who matched the description given to them by the complainant. Further investigative steps taken at the scene confirmed the theft had taken place and that the suspect is alleged to have been in possession of stolen property and tools that enabled the theft to take place.

As a result of the investigation, Darryl Rumleski, 40, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Theft under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of break-In tools contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Breach of recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
