New Pay and Display unit passes

Kapuskasing Council has approved annual parking passes for the new Pay and Display units for residents 65 years of age and older and for people with valid accessible parking permits.

The cost of the permit is $10 for the remainder of 2016.

“Kapuskasing Council approved the establishment of parking passes for our senior citizens and those with valid accessible permits. Council also extended that approval to residents from Opasatika to Smooth Rock Falls, effective immediately,” said Mayor Alan Spacek. “Residents from our neighbouring municipalities do much of their day to day business in Kapuskasing such as shopping and this is one way of promoting our community partnerships.”

Individuals interested in purchasing a yearly pass must meet the requirements of being 65 years of age and older or possessing a valid accessible parking permit.

Annual passes are available for purchase at the Civic Centre Reception. Passes will be sold to the owner of the vehicle which is determined by showing proof of ownership and a driver’s license.

Parking restrictions have not changed with the implementation of Pay and Display units and signage has been installed.
