Parked car foils suspect's attempt to flee scene on bicycle

The Timmins Police responded to an early morning incident in a residential area of South Porcupine on Sunday, July 15. Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers located an (allegedly) intoxicated individual who had allegedly been involved in a physical altercation with another resident of South Porcupine shortly before police were called to respond.

The original altercation is alleged to have taken place in an apartment and then spilled out onto the street where the accused was yelling and swearing. The suspect then allegedly attempted to flee the scene on a bicycle, but struck a parked car. The responding Timmins Police Service officers located the man and attempted to arrest him for his own safety. A brief physical struggle ensued with the accused being safely taken into custody.

Kevin Nicholls-Dollimont, 25, of South Porcupine was arrested and charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Resist peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was later released from custody on the strength of an Undertaking requiring that they attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Aug. 28 to answer to the charges laid against him.
