Organizations that put together the best floats in the Santa Claus parade picked up their hardware last night.
At the Timmins council meeting on Feb. 24, Mayor George Pirie and Downtown Timmins BIA president Jamie Roach handed out the certificates to six of the 11 award recipients in the 2021 Timmins Santa Claus Parade.
The annual event is organized by volunteers with the support of BIA and City of Timmins.
The 2021 winners were:
- Best in Theme: Ontario Power Generation
- Best Walking Group: Pat Picard School of Dance
- Best Small Entry: Mushkegowuk
- Best Large Entry: Timmins Community Park Association/Discovery Fitness Discovery Performance
- Most Spirited: Ecole Catholique Secondaire Theriault
- Brightest: Lady Luck Family Restaurant and Convenience Store
- Most Comical: Climb N Fun
- Most Original: Warriors Motorcycle Club
- Most Artistic: O’Gorman High School
- Best Live Music – Timmins Native Friendship Centre
- Best Dance Group: Melissa Kelly Dance Academy and Jennifer Kelly of Girones Lawyers
