OPP reminds you not to dump snow on highways or bridges

KIRKLAND LAKE, ON - With the abundance of snow that has fallen recently in the area patrolled by the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), members have responded to over 40 calls in relation to snow complaints since the beginning of 2019. 

The Kirkland Lake OPP would like to remind the public that it is an offence under the Town of Kirkland Lake By-Law # 08-089, to deposit snow on any highway or bridge within the Town of Kirkland Lake.  

The Kirkland Lake OPP is fully committed to public safety and is asking for the public's patience while snow removal is being conducted and are reminding motorist to exercise extra caution and drive according to the weather conditions, reduce their speed and increase their following distance to ensure they can stop safely if needed.
