Public Health Ontario reported 512 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 573 recoveries and 12 new deaths.
The Nov. 17 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- 4,741 active cases, down from 4,814 reported yesterday.
- 274 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 108 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 25 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 64 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 13 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 11,169,767 Ontarians (about 75 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. 88 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
- Included in the new cases reported today are 250 unvaccinated, 19 partially vaccinated, and 202 fully vaccinated people. 41 cases were reported with vaccination status unknown.
- In the ICU, there are 62 unvaccinated, four partially vaccinated, and 19 fully vaccinated COVID patients.
- Hospitalized COVID patients (not in the ICU) include 92 unvaccinated, 16 partially vaccinated, and 68 fully vaccinated individuals.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 8.9 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 4.4 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 2.1 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 28,931 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 2.5 per cent positivity rate.
- Of the new cases reported today, 54 are from Toronto, 26 are from Peel, 49 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 24 are from York Region.
- Today's new cases include 112 individuals under 12 years old, 35 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 126 people between 20 and 39 years old, 154 people between 40 and 59 years old, 72 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 13 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 608,718 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 594,027 recoveries and 9,950 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 30,969 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 6,084 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,131.4 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 26.9 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 15.5 per cent compared to the week of Nov. 1.

Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 740 cases, weekly rate of 111.2 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 741 cases. There are 186 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 87 per cent have both doses.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 878 cases, weekly rate of 17.8 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 880 cases. There are 26 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 87 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 83 per cent have both doses.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,257 cases, weekly rate of 24.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,259 cases. There are 21known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 85 per cent have both doses.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 3,312 cases, weekly rate of 117.4 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,358 cases. There are 243 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 91 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 88 per cent have both doses.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 269 cases, weekly rate of 26.6 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 271 cases. There are 17 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 88 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 84 per cent have both doses.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,205 cases, weekly rate of 3.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,203 cases. There are 2 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 85 per cent have both doses.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,460 cases, weekly rate of 6.3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,461 cases. There are 12 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 94 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 90 per cent have both doses.
