Public Health Ontario reported 481 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 651 recoveries and one new death.
The Nov. 16 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- 4,814 active cases, down from 4,985 reported yesterday.
- 301 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 112 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 27 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 70 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 12 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 11,160,503 Ontarians (about 75 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. 88 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
- Included in the new cases reported today are 236 unvaccinated, 18 partially vaccinated, and 189 fully vaccinated people. 38 cases were reported with vaccination status unknown.
- In the ICU, there are 63 unvaccinated, four partially vaccinated, and 19 fully vaccinated COVID patients.
- Hospitalized COVID patients (not in the ICU) include 102 unvaccinated, 17 partially vaccinated, and 73 fully vaccinated individuals.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 8.8 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 4.1 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 2.1 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 18,965 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 2.5 per cent positivity rate.
- Of the new cases reported today, 56 are from Toronto, 31 are from Peel, 33 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 23 are from York Region.
- Today's new cases include 89 individuals under 12 years old, 40 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 146 people between 20 and 39 years old, 120 people between 40 and 59 years old, 78 people between 60 and 79 years old, and nine people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 608,206 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 593,454 recoveries and 9,938 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 30,944 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 6,079 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,127.9 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 26.6 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 19.3 per cent compared to the week of Oct. 31.

Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 723 cases, weekly rate of 95 cases per 100,000 people. There are 168 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 87 per cent have both doses.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 873 cases, weekly rate of 18.6 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 875 cases. There are 26 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 87 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 83 per cent have both doses.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,256 cases, weekly rate of 23.5 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,258 cases. There are 24 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 85 per cent have both doses.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 3,291 cases, weekly rate of 114 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,338 cases. There are 262 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 91 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 88 per cent have both doses.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 267 cases, weekly rate of 23.6 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 268 cases. There are 15 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 88 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 84 per cent have both doses.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,204 cases, weekly rate of 3.7 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,203 cases. There are 2 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 90 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 85 per cent have both doses.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,459 cases, weekly rate of 10.8 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,461 cases. There are 12 known active cases. Of the eligible population 12 years and older, 94 per cent of people have at least one dose of the vaccine and 90 per cent have both doses.
