Public Health Ontario has reported 153 new COVID-19 cases today in the July 14 daily update.
Today's update includes 216 new recoveries and seven deaths.
The deaths reported today include one person between 20 and 39 years old, three people between 40 and 59 years old, and three people over 79 years old.
Since yesterday's report, there have been 10 new hospitalizations and eight people have been admitted to intensive care units.
The July 14 update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:
- 1,478 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 1,548 yesterday.
- 174 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario.
- There are 180 patients in intensive care units with COVID-related illness (of those, 47 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
- 116 people are on ventilators due to COVID-related illness (of those, 27 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
- The province reported 29,085 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 0.6 per cent positivity rate.
- There are 13,534 tests still awaiting processing, and the provincial labs have processed 16.2 million tests to date.
- Of the new cases reported today, 23 are from Waterloo, 28 are from Toronto, 19 cases are from Peel, four are from Simcoe-Muskoka, 20 are from Grey-Bruce, and five are from York Region.
- Today's cases include 34 individuals aged 19 and under, 52 people between 20 and 39 years old, 45 people between 40 and 59 years old, 17 people between 60 and 79 years old, and five people over 79 years old has been removed from the cumulative case count.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 547,562 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 536,819 recoveries and 9,265 deaths.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 3,683.7 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate is 8.2 cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 14.6 per cent from last week.
Vaccines
- There were 179,197 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
- 17,475,655 doses of vaccine have been administered.
- In total, 7,283,528 people have been fully vaccinated.
Northern Ontario
In Northern Ontario, the breakdown of Public Health Ontario data is:
- Algoma Public Health: 400 cases, weekly rate of 0 cases per 100,000 people. There are no known active cases.
- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 618 cases, weekly rate of 4.6 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 620 cases. There are 15 known active cases.
- Porcupine Health Unit: 2,099 cases, weekly rate of 18 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,101. There are 18 known active cases.
- Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 2,152 cases, weekly rate of 0.5 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 2,172 cases. There is one known active case.
- Timiskaming Health Unit: 208 cases, weekly rate of 0 cases per 100,000 people. There are no known active cases.
- Northwestern Health Unit: 1,094 cases, weekly rate of 3.4 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 1,092. There are no known active cases.
- Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 3,339 cases, weekly rate of 1.3 cases per 100,000 people. The health unit has reported 3,340. There is one known active case.
