People can once again take a walk through Hollinger Park.

Remediation work at the popular park is "substantially completed", according to Timmins director of community and development services Mark Jensen.

"There are only touch-ups to do at this point. We have decided to put off a grand reopening until next spring in light of the ongoing COVID situation. Hopefully the environment will be much more conducive to holding such an event," he said.

Work to upgrade the park has been ongoing for a couple years.

In that time, improvements have been made to the splash pad and walking path. There is also new central meeting space with an elevated sundial featuring a headframe and surrounded by benches. Refurbishments have been done at the Grandstand and ball field as well.
