One new COVID case reported in Timmins

One new COVID-19 case has been reported by the Porcupine Health Unit this morning.

The person is in Timmins and the exposure is under investigation, according to the health unit. The person is in self-isolation.

To date, the health unit has reported 560 confirmed cases of the virus. As of Friday, there had been 432 recoveries and 26 people have died. While the health unit reports new cases on the weekends, the number of new local recoveries is not updated.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
