One new COVID-19 case, 9 recoveries reported today

One new COVID-19 case and nine recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit Monday.

The new case is in the James Bay and Hudson Bay region.

To date, there have been 2,141 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,079 are recovered and 30 have died. There are 32 active cases: six in Timmins and  26 in the James Bay area.

So far, 49,203 people have been vaccinated. There have been 89, 747 doses of the vaccines administered.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
