No new COVID-19 cases, 9 recoveries reported Tuesday

The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting zero new COVID-19 cases and nine recoveries today.

There are currently 23 active cases in the region: six in Timmins and 17 in the James Bay area.

To date, there have been 2,141 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,088 are recovered and 30 have died. 

So far, 49,232 people have been vaccinated. There have been 89,972 doses of the vaccines administered.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
