No new COVID-19 cases, 1 recovery reported Friday

No new COVID-19 cases and one recovery are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today (Nov. 19). 

Since Monday, 10 new cases have been reported in the region. 

To date, there have been 2,265 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in the region. Of those, 2,217 are recovered and 31 people have died. There are 17 known active cases — 11 in Timmins and 4 in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls, and two in the James Bay area.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
