No new cases, 1 recovery reported Thursday

No new COVID-19 cases and one recovery are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today.

To date, there have been 2,131 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,064 are recovered and 30 people have died. There are 36 known active cases — 9 in Timmins and 27 in the James Bay area.

So far, 49,016 people have been vaccinated, which is an increase of 25 from yesterday's report. There have been 88,904 doses of the vaccines administered. Both of these are the same as yesterday's numbers.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
