Discussion

Record breaking warmth affected much of northern Ontario today with temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above average for early November. Numerous record highs for Nov. 7 were set. The following (abridged) list summarizes some of these records.

Kapuskasing 

  • New record of 18.5
  • Old record of 16.1 set in 1975 
  • Records began in 1937

Timmins 

  • New record of 18.6
  • Old record of 15.6 set in 1975 
  • Records began in 1955

Chapleau 

  • New record of 17.1
  • Old record of 15.6 set in 1956 
  • Records began in 1913

Sault Ste. Marie 

  • New record of 18.0
  • Old record of 13.9 set in 1945 
  • Records began in 1945

Sudbury 

  • New record of 16.6
  • Old record of 15.0 set in 2008
