New names added to municipal election list

The list of people wanting a seat at the Timmins council table has grown. 

Pat Bamford is seeking re-election in Ward 4, and John Ivanovs has added his name to the list of people vying for the Ward 5 seat. 

For school boards, Nicole Arcand is running for the French public school trustee, while Langis Dion is running for the French Catholic school board. 

The nomination period for the municipal election is open until July 27 at 2 p.m. Election day is Oct. 22.

The other nominations so far are:

  • Mayor - Steve Black
  • Ward 1 - Rock Whissell, Veronica Farrell
  • Ward 4 - John Curley
  • Ward 5 - Alex Szczebonski, Cory Robin, Jason Sereda
  • English public school board trustee - Bob Brush
  • English Catholic school board trustee - Colleen Landers
  • French public school board trustee - Liliane Francis
