Local creeks are being watched for potential ice damming, according to the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority.

The regular watershed update says MRCA and municipal staff are closely watching Town Creek and Crawford Creek.

Generally, the MRCA reports that snow depth and water content conditions are above normal, with a few exceptions. The Porcupine snowcourse station is normal, while Shillington is slightly below normal.

For the rest of the stations in the Upper Mattagami Watershed, the report says the water content variances are 113.6 per cent to 157.4 per cent above normal.

"Winter drawdown of Mesomikenda, Mattagami Lake, Peter Long and Wawaitin are complete and reservoirs are being held near the bottom until the onset of freshet," reads the update.

The Timmins Flood Advisory Committee also started teleconference meetings this week.
