On Monday, Sept. 9, “The Ryan Daly Show” on 92.1 ROCK FM will be rebranded into Owen’s Morning Show on 92.1 ROCK, in support of  local five-year-old Owen Fodchuk.

Owen unfornately suffers from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome with intact atrial septum (HLHS).  Currently, there is no cure for Owen’s heart disease. At five years old he has been through more than most will go through in their life, multiple stomach surgeries, heart surgeries, and even a brain surgery.

Owen is now heading in for his third open-heart surgery in Toronto. The goal for this surgery is to make a new connection to optimize blood flow going to his extremities. The goal is to rebuild parts of the heart and redirect the way the blood flows, increasing his oxygen saturations to a higher and more normal range.

The surgery is set to take place Monday at 10 a.m., following Owen’s Morning Show on 92.1 ROCK. The goal of the radio program is to send positive wishes to Owen heading into his surgery, as well as raise funds for the family during this difficult time.

“It’s absolutely tragic that a family has to travel all the way to Toronto just to get the health care needed to make sure their son is OK. They have enough to deal with without worrying about lost wages from work, travel costs, and everything else that goes along with it. So we’re happy to help out. We’ve come up with some awesome prizes for people who can donate, and we want to create a positive, fun radio program for Owen and his family leading up to his surgery. They’ll be listening online, and we want them to know the community is rooting for Owen in this very serious surgery," said Ryan Daly, from 92.1 ROCK

The show can be streamed online at 921ROCK.ca starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Prize information and a link to the GoFundMe can be found here.
