Mining has been the lifeblood of our local economy for more than a century.
Every year, we celebrate Mining Week in Ontario, and normally at this time of year, we are looking forward to the Canadian Mining Expo, knows as The Big Event – Canada’s largest gold mining equipment show. For the second year, the event has been postponed due to COVID.
Virtex, a division of Canadian Trade-Ex, is hosting, in partnership with the City of Timmins and the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, a one-of-a-kind, two-day virtual conference that will connect the biggest players in the mining industry, all under one virtual roof.
The mining event will be held June 2 and 3. This virtual event will connect regional stakeholders as well as the mining industry with suppliers and potential employees. The goal of the virtual event is to promote mining as a safe and viable career opportunity and to help promote some particularly important issues facing the industry today such as electric vehicles, modern mining technology, inclusion in the workforce and environmental footprint/impacts.
