Man will return to court after recognizance breach charge

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a matter where a local man is alleged to have breached conditions of a Recognizance imposed by the Provincial Court.

On Aug. 28, the suspect, who is known to the police, was observed by Timmins Police officers in public, at a licensed event, past his curfew, and consuming liquor.

The Timmins Police conducted an investigation and confirmed that strict conditions applied to the suspect in reference to previous charges.

These conditions include a strict curfew and to abstain absolutely from the purchase or consumption of alcohol.

As a result, Dwayne Guy, 49, of Schumacher, was arrested on Aug. 29 and has been charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

A bail hearing was held on Aug. 30 where he was remanded in custody until his next court date.
