Man charged with trespassing, weapons, drug offences

CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES  - On October 22, 2015 at approximately 1:35 p.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call reporting an unwanted male at a local business on King Street, North Cobalt.

Police attended immediately and through investigation a 52-year-old man was arrested and charged with several criminal offences. 

Kenneth REESE of Coleman Township is charged:   

  • Assault with a Weapon – section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – section 88 of the Criminal Code (three counts)
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon – section 90 of the Criminal Code
  • Theft Under $5,000 – section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (two counts)
  • Resist Peace Officer – section 129 (a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance Methamphetamine – section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance Oxycodone – section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited – section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Trespass to Property Act

The accused will attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on October 23, 2015.
