HEARST - On Nov. 12, 2017, at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers from the Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped at motor vehicle that was travelling on Front Street in the Town of Hearst to verify the sobriety of the driver.

Police determined that the male driver had consumed an amount of alcohol which exceeded the legal limit.

Ashesh Kumar, 43-years-old, from Toronto, Ont. was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst on Dec. 20, 2017 to answer to the charge.
