The Business Enterprise Centre in partnership with Canada Business Ontario welcomes Dr. Walter Doyle Staples to Timmins and Kapuskasing to present his workshop “Maximizing Employee Value”.

The workshops are ideal for business owners and managers, as well as not-for-profits. Dr. Staples will discuss business management styles that engage and involve employees, improve their productivity and performance, and help instill a culture of “customer-centricity” in an organization.

The Timmins workshop will take place Wednesday, Oct. 19 at The Social Venue on 27 Maple Street South from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

“We know that employees are the most important asset in an organization’s value chain, yet a 2013 survey found that just 13 percent of employees feel committed to their jobs. This is problematic. This lack of commitment is costly and leads to increased absenteeism, disagreements among employees and managers, and low morale among other things. ” says Dr. Walter Staples, founder and CEO of Staples Global Training.

Dr. Staples’ interactive workshop will deal with important topics such as managing different age generations from Baby Boomers to Millennials, investing in employee development, managerial styles and best practices, employee responsibility, and how to focus an organization on the customer.

He will also help organization managers and owners understand how to build strong, meaningful relationships with employees. These relationships are the critical link that ties together employee engagement, customer focus, and business results.

“The Business Enterprise Centre is committed to offering innovative workshops and seminars relevant to business owners and entrepreneurs in Timmins and across northeastern Ontario. Dr. Staples brings a wealth of knowledge that business owners and managers can take advantage of”, says Fred Gibbons, Chair of the Timmins Economic Development Corporation.
