Luc Duval resigns from city position (update)

Longtime director of Public Works and Engineering moving on

The City of Timmins announced on Tuesday afternoon that Luc Duval, Director of Public Works and Engineering has resigned from his position, effective on April 10.

He has worked for the city in the position since June of 2007.

"Luc has accepted a role with another organization where he will begin a new chapter in his professional engineering career. We express our utmost gratitude to Luc for his many years of commitment, dedication, and service to the City of Timmins, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours," said a city press release.

"Luc submitted his resignation yesterday to pursue another career opportunity. The city will follow the normal recruiting steps to hire a new Director of Public Works and Engineering," said Mayor Steve Black.
 
Duval was praised by Black for his fine work in a demanding and heavily scrutinized position.
 
"Luc has worked on a number of major projects over his tenure with the City of Timmins as well as managing the largest and most visible department. He always worked with a positive outlook and love for his community and a goal of improving our community for residents present and future."
