Timmins man facing child pornography, sexual assault charges
A Timmins man is facing several child pornography and sexual assault-related charges following an investigation by the Timmins Police Service.
The investigation, conducted by members of the Criminal Investigation Section and Electronic Crimes Section revealed that offences had been committed relating to child pornography and sexual assault on a child under the age of 18.
The accused was arrested on January 13, 2016.
As a result, a Timmins man now faces charges of Possession of Child Pornography, Making Child Pornography, Distributing Child Pornography, Accessing Child Pornography, Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, and Invitation to Sexual Touching.
A publication ban has been imposed by the court under section 486 of the Criminal Code of Canada, therefore the name of the accused is not being released.
He was held in custody pending his bail hearing scheduled for today, January 15, 2016.
