Library to play host to free senior-friendly activities, including a tech fair!

The June events are in honour, celebration of Ontario Seniors' Month

The Timmins Public Library celebrates Ontario Seniors’ Month this June with several free senior-friendly activities, including matinées, a visit from the TSO Concert Band, and an afternoon tech fair featuring community partners.

Additionally, the C.M. Shields Centennial Library (99 Bloor Avenue, South Porcupine) has re-launched their seed library to help you get gardening this summer. All activities are drop-in sessions, and feel friend to bring along friends!

Schedule of Events:

  • Saturday, June 1 at 2 p.m. - TSO Adult Band Performance
  • Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. - Pollinator Gardens (C.M. Shields, South Porcupine)
  • Thursday, June 6 at 2 p.m. - Seniors’ Tech Fair (until 4 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. - Silver Matinée His Girl Friday (1940)
  • Tuesday, June 18 at 1 p.m. - Silver Matinée Pillow Talk (1959)
  • Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. - Documentary The Cove (2009), followed by a Q&A session with animal rights activist Ric O’Barry

Highlighted this year is our Seniors’ Tech Fair, which will provide the opportunity for seniors to meet representatives from different community organizations that offer technology services and resources. Please note: this event is not for direct tech support queries.
