Library launches summer reading club (3 photos)

Free program celebrates Canadian authors

The TD Summer Reading Club has officially launched.

Children ages three to 13 can participate in the free, bilingual program. For kids who register and read over the summer, they have the opportunity to win prizes.

The club is running at the main Timmins Public Library branch as well as in South Porcupine. It celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories to help inspire kids to explore the fun of reading.

To participate, stop by one of the branches. There will also be a calendar with free TD Summer Reading Club events. There is an option to take part online as well if you can't commit to attending the meetings.

The library is encouraging readers to share their summer reading fun using the hashtags #TDSRC and #TimminsPL.
