GOLDCORP - PORCUPINE GOLD MINES

In response to recent community feedback regarding vibrations experienced in the community at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, Goldcorp - Porcupine Gold Mines would like to take this opportunity to highlight that blasting at the Hollinger Open Pit only occurs during times approved by the city and the relevant oversight bodies.

A warning alarm is sounded prior to any scheduled blast. During the summer months, Hollinger Open Pit blast times are:

    •    11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. (year round)
    •    3:30 - 4 p.m. (March - October)

Porcupine Gold Mines continues to operate and conduct blasting well within approved parameters. Any notable vibrations you may experience that occur outside of the times above are not due to the Hollinger Open Pit.

Porcupine Gold Mines is committed to being transparent with our community – if we have a significant blast that causes vibrations outside the allowable limits, we are committed to letting you know about it.
