Kirkland Lake's Colleen Gill own $250,000 on an instant Crossword ticket.

KIRKLAND LAKE - A love of playing instant lottery games has paid off for Colleen Gill.

The Kirkland Lake woman won $250,000 on an instant Crossword Deluxe game.

"I decided to pick up some tickets for Family Day. This is my first big win!" she told the OLG while picking up her prize in Toronto.

Gill said she loves to play instant games, especially crossword and bingo.

"I played my ticket after our family dinner when everyone went home. I saw all these words matching and I was so excited. I said to my husband, 'I think I won!'" Colleen recalled. "I took it to the store to find out I won $250,000 and I was shaking. My husband and I celebrated together."

She plans to split the win with her husband and adult children.

"It feels good to give them a gift like this. I plan to treat myself to a sunny beach destination to relax," she said.

The winning ticket was bought at A-One Variety on Government Road in Kirkland Lake.
