KAPUSKASING - A Kapuskasing man has been fined for an offence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act. René Vallée pleaded guilty to allowing a big game animal to spoil and was fined $3,000. He also received a one-year hunting suspension.
Court heard that on Oct. 27, 2017, conservation officers responded to information about a bull moose that had been shot and abandoned west of Kapuskasing in McKnight Township. Officers conducted an investigation and determined Vallée had killed and abandoned the bull moose and left it to spoil.
Justice of the Peace Jean-Marie Blier heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Kapuskasing, on Aug. 8, 2018.
