The Welcome to Timmins Night Committee would like to extend to the general public an invitation to attend the 24th annual event taking place Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the McIntyre Curling Club, located at 85 McIntyre Road in Schumacher beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The annual event has grown remarkably since its inception in 1994 and this year’s sold out event is anticipated once again to be a great success.

The Timmins Local Immigration Partnership (TLIP) and the Timmins and District Multicultural Centre (TDMC) in partnership with the Timmins Economic Development Corporation, Timmins Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Timmins BIA, Cochrane District Social Planning Council, The Venture Centre, and Tourism Timmins have organized the Welcome to Timmins Night in order to showcase and promote non-profit community information ranging from municipal services, social clubs, health, academic, sports and recreation, culture and volunteer organizations to newcomers and existing residents.

The committee requests that those attending the event bring a non-perishable food item or a washed stuffed animal as their entry fee. All food and like-new soft toys will be collected at the event entrance and donated to a local food bank and the Cochrane District EMS.

About TLIP

The TLIP works to assist our region in building capacity to achieve success in immigration related opportunities and provide a collaborative framework for the development and implementation of effective programs for the successful integration of newcomers choosing to live in Timmins. TLIP's primary focus is to develop strong partnerships to drive efforts in establishing a newcomer settlement program for the City of Timmins.

About TDMC

TDMC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to offering free settlement services to newcomers in the Timmins and District. We assist and support new immigrants and refugees with integration and settlement needs. We help newcomers adjust to Canada. All of our services, except translations and interpretation, are free.
