It's Urban Park season!

Fresh strawberries were one of the hot items at the first Urban Park farmers' market.

Another season of the downtown Timmins Urban Park is underway. 

From Wednesday to Friday every week, a couple blocks of the downtown core will be closed to traffic to allow for a variety of events. 

Wednesdays are kids' activities, the farmers' market is Thursdays, and Friday is for Tunes at Noon. 

The schedule is:

  • July 3 - 5: Third Avenue between Spruce and Cedar. The theme is Teddy Bear Picnic.
  • July 10 - 12: Third Avenue between Balsam and Maple. The theme is Superheroes.
  • July 17 - 19: Third Avenue between Balsam and Maple. The theme is Beach Week.
  • July 24 - 26: Pine Street between Algonquin and Second. The theme is Around the World.
  • July 31 - Aug. 2: Pine Street between Algonquin and Second. The theme is Halloween.
  • Aug. 7 - 9: Pine Street between Second and First. The theme is '50s and '60s.
  • Aug. 14 - 16: Pine Street between Second and First. The theme is Science Week.
  • Aug. 21 - 23: Third Avenue between Spruce and Cedar. The theme is Literacy Week.
  • Aug. 28 - 30: Third Avenue between Spruce and Cedar. The theme is Back to School.

The farmers' market only will be held Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26 on Third Avenue from Spruce to Cedar.
