Kapuskasing appoints new CAO

Mayor Alan Spacek and the members of Kapuskasing Town Council are please to announce the appointment of Guylain Baril to the position of chief administrative officer for the Town.

Baril is a graduate with Honours of the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Engineering degree, and has held a series of operational and senior executive positions in the paper and mining sectors, both in Kapuskasing and elsewhere in Canada.

“I am pleased to undertake the next chapter of my career in my home community and look forward to working with the Council and staff of Kapuskasing in the years ahead to build upon their successes and to make Kapuskasing an even better place to live and raise a family,” said Baril.

“Guylain is well known to many of us here in Kapuskasing and I am pelased that we have been able to attract someone with his talents to serve our community,” said Mayor Spacek.

He will succeed Yves Labelle who recently announced his retirement following 13 years of service to the Town as director of public works and as chief administrative officer.
