The City of Timmins has closed the Hoyle bridge on Frederick House Lake Road indefinitely. The closure is effective today (Nov. 22, 2021).

The Hoyle bridge closure is effective today (Monday, Nov. 22).

The closure of the bridge that crosses Porcupine River on Frederick House Lake Road affects all traffic, including cyclists and pedestrians. The detour is via Carrigan Road.

Earlier this month, the City of Timmins announced the structure's indefinite closure.

The City of Timmins has said the closure will mean a maximum of an extra eight minutes for secondary fire response from the Timmins and Whitney fire stations.

Now that the bridge is closed, the city will be doing an environmental assessment. It will include looking at whether the bridge should be replaced or removed as well as any upgrades that may be needed to Carrigan Road.
