NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF TIMMINS
*************************
The City of Timmins has issued the current tax bills, and would like to remind residents that City Hall remains closed to public access, therefore payment cannot be made in person at this time.

Bill Payments

Tax, water and sewer bills may be paid using the following methods:

  1. Pre-Authorized Payment Plan (PAP): The PAP program allows for automatic withdrawals on the 15th day of each month, the last business day of each month or on the due date of the bills. The sign up forms are available online at www.timmins.ca using this link.
  2. Online banking: Taxes, water and sewer, and business licenses can also be paid through online banking with your own banking institution.
  3. Cheque:Cheques can be sent by regular mail or deposited in the drop-off box at the front of City Hall.

It is important to note, payments made through the pre-authorized payment plan and post-dated cheques are still being processed. Any resident requiring payment deferrals who are signed up for these two forms of payments should contact Service Timmins to request being removed for the duration specified by the resident.

Please remember, interest fees, charges and penalties are waived on property taxes and water and sewer for the duration of the pandemic.

Service Timmins

Due to COVID-19 closures, Service Timmins is also working with a minimum number of staff, resulting in longer-than-usual wait times due to an increase in call volume at this time.

In order to avoid lengthy hold times, Service Timmins offers a feature allowing residents to leave their telephone number and when an agent is free, they will return the call. The resident does not lose their place in line, should they choose this option.

If you are looking for information, Service Timmins also has an online citizen portal which allows residents to submit their requests directly to the agents. This option allows a fast and easy avenue to community with Service Timmins from the comforts of your own home, or wherever you may be.

City employees remain committed to offering centralized services through Service Timmins, providing assistance with: lottery and licensing, by-law enforcement, leisure services, roads and sidewalks, tax, water and sewer, waste management, and parking.
