A hospital volunteer has won the monthly 50/50 draw.
Gilles St. Pierre took home $186,192 in the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation's (TADHF) 50/50 draw this month.
When he saw the hospital number show up on his phone, the foundation announcement said St. Pierre thought the volunteer program was starting back up.
"We started the phone conversation confirming that he was in fact the volunteer that we remembered, then before we could even tell him about his windfall he brought up how proud he was of the team at the foundation for bringing this lottery to life and being able to help the hospital, community and region even more! This made breaking the news to him that he was the winner even more heartwarming," reads the announcement.
"Gilles can’t wait to get back into the hospital to continue his work. He is also a volunteer driver where he supports his community driving patients to medical appointments!"
