Hockey history, interactive games part of travelling exhibit (9 photos)

It has memorabilia from local legends Bill Barilko and Frank Mahovlich

A travelling exhibit from the Hockey Hall of Fame is set up at the McIntyre Curling Club.

The exhibit celebrates local hall of famers, including Bill Barilko, Frank Mahovlich and Murray Costello, as well as other Northern Ontario greats.

For local-area hockey, there is information on NOHA players and teams.

Interactive displays will also be set up for the kids, including electronic net hockey, a radar cage, mini rink, skee puck, and bubble hockey.

The 1,500-sqare-foot exhibit is open today until 8 p.m., and May 7 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.

The display is also helping to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the opening of the McIntyre Arena and its founder, J.P. Bickell.

The McIntyre Arena was built for the McIntyre Porcupine Mines employees by J.P. Bickell, who was the president of the mine. He was also the majority owner, president, chairman and director of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Maple Leafs Gardens from 1924 to 1951.
