The Timmins Film Society’s monthly showing took home the award for Best Picture, among others, at the 2020 Academy Awards. Tickets are available in advance at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre and Alfie’s Cigar Store, or at the door (cash only).

Take a snowmobile ride out to the ski hill and enjoy a meal in the chalet. 

Timmins Pet Food Pantry 

Wednesday, Feb. 19, 4 - 6 p.m.

Timmins Public Library 

The Pet Food Pantry offers pet food and supplies at no cost to those facing hardships. Donations are also accepted, and they are short on cat supplies (food, litter, scoops, pans and carriers). Contact the Timmins and District Humane Society at 705-264-1816.

Internet Safety for Teens

Timmins Public Library 

A free presentation for teens and parents hosted by Digital Creator and NEOnet. Learn tips for protecting your personal information online, using social media, gaming, and more. Email [email protected] to register or for more details.

Winter Hiking Day 

Saturday, Feb. 22, noon - 2 p.m.

Hersey Lake Conservation Area 

Enjoy guided hikes and learn more about the conservation area, as well as how the plants and animals have adapted to survive the region. There will be presentations from Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue, and the Timmins Fur Council, a warming tent courtesy of Sewn Home, and Wintergreen volunteers will be serving up hot chocolate until 2 p.m.

Coldest Night of the Year 

Saturday, Jan. 22, 5 p.m.

Lord’s Kitchen 

The fundraiser for the Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins is hitting the streets. For it, participants go on a two, five or 10-kilometre walk followed by a light meal. You can register for Coldest Night of the Year online here.

Flying Fathers 

Saturday, Jan. 22

McIntyre Arena

The Flying Fathers are taking on the South Porcupine Fire Department. Tickets are $5 for kids six years and under, $7 for youth seven to 18 years, and $10 for adults.
