Here's a look at the Victor Mine on its 10th anniversary back in 2018

With the remote site in the final stages of closure, here's a glimpse of what it looked like five years ago

With De Beers' Victor Mine in its final stages of closure, here's a peek at how it looked in 2018.

In August of that year, people were invited on-site to tour Ontario's first diamond mine located in a remote area of the James Bay lowlands in Northern Ontario. The event was held to help mark the site's 10th anniversary. Nine months later, in May 2019, the final truck left the open pit and the decommissioning process started.

Today, the company is nearing the end of its closure plan, though it will continue to have a presence there for environmental monitoring until at least 2039.
