Living Space-Vivre à l’abri is hosting its’ first Summit for Solving Homelessness in Timmins on Sept. 27 and 28, 2017 at Northern College. This Summit is part of an effort to develop a coordinated homelessness service system to meet the unique needs of our northern communities.

The 2017 Summit for Solving Homelessness by Living Space will be an important step forward in the development of these solutions by bringing together key stakeholders from the community and beyond. The event will also position Timmins as a leader in the field of homelessness and poverty reduction in Northern Ontario.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Carol Kauppi, Laura Winters, Jan Richardson, Cindy Rose, Gail Spencer, Dennis Chippa, Kathy King and Carmen Robillard.

The Cochrane-District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) announced the launch of Living Space – Vivre à l’abri this past June. This is an important project for the community of Timmins as it will allow for the development of a coordinated and multi-sectorial response to the issues of poverty and homelessness in our community. 

This collaborative project proposed by the CDSSAB brings together strategic community partners to develop immediate and long-term solutions to homelessness and poverty in Timmins and area.
