'Heated exchange' between two apartment tenants leads to charges for Timmins man

The Timmins Police Service has arrested a local man stemming from a disturbance among fellow tenants at a Main Street apartment building in South Porcupine which is alleged to have occurred during the afternoon hours of Thursday, June 27.

Responding Timmins Police Service officers completed a comprehensive investigation into the incident where a tenant of one apartment is alleged to have made threatening remarks to the occupant of another apartment during a heated exchange between the two.

Based on the investigation, the identity of the suspect was determined. The suspect was located and arrested the following day by the Timmins Police Service. As a result of this incident, Paul Lyons, 35, of Timmins, was taken into custody and is charged with:

  • Uttering threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
