TORONTO – Cynthia Ramsay of Haileybury won “Ontario’s jackpot” – $250,000 in the June 20, 2020 LOTTARIO draw. Cynthia matched all six numbers to win the top prize.

Cynthia, a 60-year old retired retail worker, discovered her win at home by checking her numbers on the OLG website. “I started talking to myself when I realized I had won,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her cheque. “Well what do I do now?” she remembers saying.

She called her brother to share her big news. “He said, ‘you’re kidding me! You finally won!’” she smiled.   The married, mother of one is in no rush to spend her winnings too quickly. “I plan to come down from the excitement before I make any big decisions – but I am excited to get a new freezer,” she laughed.

“It’s a blessing, it’s surreal and hard to believe it’s actually happening. My nerves are waking me up in the morning, but it’s a wonderful blessing,” Cynthia concluded.

The OLG Prize Centre in Toronto has resumed in-person prize claims for winning-ticket holders of $50,000 or more by-appointment only. To best protect customers and staff, OLG has put in place appropriate health and safety protocols in accordance with guidelines from public health officials, which include physical distancing measures, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the pre-screening of visitors before granting entry. Currently, OLG is reaching out to major prize winners ($50,000+) who have been unable to claim their prizes due to COVID-19 to schedule appointments for in-person prize claims. Future announcements will be made as to when OLG will open appointments to others wishing to claim their prize in-person at the Prize Centre.

LOTTARIO launched in 1978 as Ontario’s first terminal lotto game. Tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. Tickets purchased before 10:30 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the Early Bird draw. Visit the LOTTARIO page on OLG.ca for more information.

The winning ticket was purchased at BNS Corner Gas on King Street in North Cobalt.
