The chair and vice-chair of the Timmins Police Services board have been re-elected.

At today's (Jan. 16) meeting, Kraymr Grenke was re-elected as the chair of the board, with Kristin Murray being re-elected as vice-chair.

"I appreciate the board's support for another year. We've done some great work over the last year with our new board and let's continue that,” said Grenke.

Grenke is one of the public members to sit on the board. Murray is one of two Timmins councillors appointed to it.

“I also want to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of the Timmins Police Service members during these turbulent times. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and we appreciate your resilience in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. As a unified team, we will navigate these challenges and work towards a safer and more secure future for Timmins," said Grenke after the meeting.

"I am deeply honoured to have been re-elected as the chair of the Timmins Police Services Board. I want to express my gratitude to each member of the board for their unwavering dedication and hard work over the past year. Policing has faced unprecedented challenges, and our board remains committed to collaborating with all members of the service."
