Gold Cup Classic Basketball Tournament

The 40th annual Gold Cup Classic high school basketball tournament will tip off on the morning of Friday, November 29th , with a total of 32 teams from across Ontario.

The 40th annual Gold Cup Classic high school basketball tournament will tip off on the morning of Friday, November 29th , with a total of 32 teams from across Ontario.  Action continues all day Friday and throughout Saturday at 4 gyms – O’Gorman, Northern College, Roland Michener and Timmins High.

The tournament concludes with “Championship Night” on November 30th at Timmins High, with game times as follows:

Junior Consolation Championship – 1:30 pm at O’Gorman

Senior Consolation Championship – 1:30 pm at Timmins High

Junior Championship – 4:30 pm at Timmins High

Senior Championship – 6:00 pm at Timmins High

 

At the conclusion of each championship game, an awards ceremony will feature the selection of the tournament all-star team and tournament MVP.

Tournament passes, good for all games except championship night, are available at the doors for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Games passes are available for $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for students.

Major sponsors include: Adidas Canada, the Comfort Inn, Travelodge, Goldcorp and Lakeshore Gold. Tournament organizers are predicting this year’s Gold Cup will be the most competitive and balanced in the tournament’s history.
